Position: CNC Operator – General Fabrication Support
We’re seeking experienced CNC Operators to support our general fabrication operations. In this role, you’ll run CNC laser and plasma cutting machines, press brakes, and roll/forming equipment, while providing key production support across the shop floor.
The ideal candidate is technically skilled, safety-conscious, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
- Operate CNC laser cutters, plasma machines, press brakes, and roll/form equipment
- Perform machine setups, including retrieving programs, selecting correct nozzles/gases, setting tool offsets, and fixturing materials
- Follow all startup/shutdown procedures and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAM/CNC files
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify tolerances
- Load, unload, and organize raw materials to maintain production flow
- Prep parts as needed — bend, punch, saw, and ensure components are ready for welding or final assembly
- Troubleshoot minor machine or program issues; escalate complex problems as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all safety policies and PPE guidelines
- Collaborate and cross-train with team members to support overall production goals
- Experience operating CNC laser, plasma, press brake, or related fabrication machinery
- Familiarity with basic CNC programming concepts and CAM software
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
- Skilled with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
- Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks precisely
- Reliable and self-motivated — able to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to work overtime when needed and support team production targets
- Physically able to handle materials per company safety standards
- Prior CNC programming or in-depth machine operation experience
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding prep, or equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of laser/plasma cutting settings and nozzle/gas selection
- Forklift experience or certification a plus
