PEER is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental or Civil Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to apply academic knowledge in real-world projects while gaining hands-on experience in the delivery of environmental and civil engineering services.
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers to support the planning, design, and execution of projects that align with PEER’s mission. Responsibilities will include applying scientific and engineering principles to address client needs, engaging with governmental agencies, and participating in community-focused initiatives.
This role is designed to foster professional growth through mentorship, training, and exposure to a wide range of engineering practices. Candidates should have obtained or be on track to earn their Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification, with a commitment to pursuing additional professional or managerial certifications over time.
Knowledge, Education & Experience: (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)
Working Conditions: (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position.)
Typical indoor activities consist of sedentary conditions, sitting and working at a computer in an office setting. External activities may consist of working in conditions of extreme cold and/or hot temperatures. Assignments require the ability to transport oneself to and from the field site. May be subject to noise and hazardous site conditions such as slips, trips and falls and exposure to potentially hazardous materials. All required PPE would be provided when necessary.
Physical Demands: (The physical effort generally associated with this position.)
Physical demands are moderate, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and/or frequently moving up to 25 pounds. Must be medically able to wear a respirator and perform work duties while wearing the respirator.
