About the Position:
Our client is a prominent land development firm based in Charlotte, NC, specializing in site designs for various sectors. As they continue to grow, they are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer who will also serve as the Engineering Department Head in the Charlotte office. This role is crucial as it marks the creation of a new position aimed at steering the engineering efforts to new heights.
Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage the engineering department, setting strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality site design projects.
•Oversee all phases of land development projects from conception through completion, including planning, design, and implementation.
•Ensure projects meet all technical specifications, budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
•Foster a collaborative environment and mentor engineering staff to promote professional growth and technical excellence.
•Serve as the primary technical expert and point of contact for major clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and relationships are strengthened.
•Collaborate with other department heads and senior management to align engineering strategies with company goals.
•Develop and implement best practices, innovative solutions, and quality control measures.
•Play a pivotal role in business development activities by contributing technical expertise during proposal preparation and client presentations.
Required Qualifications:
•Must be a currently practicing Land Development Civil Site Engineer based in Charlotte, NC (Mecklenburg County).
•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
•Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
•Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage a diverse team of engineers.
•Extensive knowledge of local regulations, standards, and permitting processes specific to Charlotte and surrounding areas.
•Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
