CIVIL ENGINEER

Position Summary

Minnkota Power Cooperative is seeking qualified applicants for a Civil Engineer position located at our headquarters in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This position is responsible for Transmission Line Design Engineering, Engineering Analysis, Project Management, and support of Operations and Maintenance personnel.

The salary range for this position begins at $72,677 per year. Appropriate compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, education, and any previous relevant experience.

Essential Responsibilities

+ Prepare plan & profile drawings, detailed construction drawings and specifications + Develop complete material lists for projects + Assure all transmission line design meets strength and safety requirements of Minnkota’s Design Manual, the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and/or the Rural Utility System (RUS) design manual + Perform foundation design calculations + Perform structural design and strength calculations using PLS-CADD + Determine mechanical loading capabilities of transmission structures + Project scoping, planning and estimating of substation projects + Contractor and construction coordination and management + Provide day-to-day guidance and technical expertise to operations and maintenance personnel + Verify asset attribute records

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to an office environment indoors, and will travel outdoors to multiple locations dependent on work.
