# Civil Design Engineer – Commercial Site Development

Location: Greater Cleveland / Akron, OH Area – On-site

Compensation: $100,000 – $150,000 + Bonus | Great Benefits

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys combining hands-on design with client-facing responsibilities, including representing owners at planning and zoning meetings.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in commercial site development along with the communication skills to work directly with clients, contractors, and municipalities. This role offers long-term growth potential, including leadership opportunities in the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Design commercial site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater plans

- Produce site layouts, drawings, and construction documents using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D

- Prepare permit applications and supporting plans to meet local, state, and federal requirements

- Represent clients at monthly planning and zoning meetings

- Collaborate with survey crews, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure accuracy and compliance

- Serve as a client-facing engineer, maintaining strong professional relationships

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (PE license preferred)

- 5+ years of civil design experience with commercial site development

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D

- Strong knowledge of stormwater management, erosion control, and permitting processes

- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client and municipal interaction

- U.S. citizenship required; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- On-site 5 days per week (remote flexibility only in emergencies)
