Founded in 2021, Bioform has developed a proprietary method to manufacture plastic alternatives based on wood pulp reinforced hydrogels at high speeds by modifying existing pulp and paper making machinery. The manufacturing process has a low carbon footprint and can produce highly versatile materials to replace a wide range of single use plastics. Bioform has developed both compostable and paper-recyclable films that can be heat sealed or thermoformed depending on the application. Bioform is seeking people that are focused on sustainability, innovation, excellence, respect, and open-mindedness in whatever job you are working on.
Bioform is looking for a 8 month Chemistry Lab Intern from September 2025 - April 2026 to work on the improvement of our plastic alternative films. The role will include the preparation as well as testing the mechanical and barrier properties of the film materials. The Chemistry Lab Intern will be helping us understand the performance of the film by changing the composition and improve the film performance. Under supervision from the project lead, you will plan and execute activities, write up project reports, and present development findings to the wider team.
We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual with hands-on experience with lab work and operation of experimental equipment who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and who wants to see the real impact of their work.
