Duties:

Employee performs all duties under the general direction and supervision of a foreman. The employee frequently works as a member of a team made up of engineers, technicians, and craftsmen. The employee will perform general craft work, utilizing general shop hand and power tools and equipment as well as additional tools and equipment specific to their craft. The employee will operate bridge, bobcats, boom cranes and other construction equipment. Additionally, the employee must be competent in rigging and flagging of cranes, use machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses and cut-off saws, performs repair and maintenance on flow calibration pumps and piping systems and may do light maintenance on boats, motors, and equipment. The employee may assist a journeyman Electrician and under their direction perform support task which may include low voltage task (120VAC or 48VDC or less) such as wiring lights, motors, control equipment, check AC and DC circuits, and repair and trouble shoot electrical devices such as motors and generators, run conduit, mount electrical box and devices. Voltage levels above (120VAC & 48VDC) and their associated task will be performed only by journeyman Electricians.
Field Work: The employee will support field installation of equipment and testing requiring operation of numerous support equipment, e.g. boats, extended boom forklifts, bucket trucks, and related small power equipment. Advanced boating operability skills required.


Qualifications:

Must be a Journeyman Electrician, Machinist, Boilermaker or Pipe Fitter. Must possess and demonstrate advanced-level skills and knowledge in the following areas, depending upon trade: (1) Electrical - Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of power distribution systems, electrical, pneumatic and or digital control systems. Install/terminate fiber-optic cable and data acquisition for remote control systems. (2) Machinist – Precision machine work and skilled with setup/running CNC equipment, mechanical characteristics of equipment supporting process components of cryogenic systems. Ability to install setup and rebuild safety pressure relief device and pressure regulators. Depending upon need, may be required to be a qualified mechanic and be proficient in welding, modifying boat hulls, fabrication and installation of on-board equipment consistent with USCG standards and within physical capabilities of the hull. (3) Steam/Pipe Fitter – Extensive experience in stick and TIG methods for carbon steel, stainless steel welding and aluminum welding, as well as plasma cutting and torch cutting. Extensive experience in general metal fabrication tools and techniques. (4) Boilermaker – Extensive experience in stick and TIG methods for carbon steel, stainless steel welding and aluminum welding, as well as plasma cutting and torch cutting. Extensive experience in general metal fabrication tools and techniques.
All trades must have experience with ASME B31.3 process piping and or NFPA 55 compressed gases and cryogenics codes as well as fabrication and welding of HDPE piping. Must have extensive experience in working around oxygen-enriched atmospheres and understand the safety implications of working on and around a oxygen-enriched, cryogenic liquid oxygen site and the appropriate processes and procedures to conduct such work safely.
Employee must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and willingness to travel to support field installations and testing support as required.
High School Education or equivalent plus employee must have completed a craft apprentice program and be a Journeyman Electrician, Machinist, Boilermaker or Pipe Fitter. Must have training and/or certification in small crane, rigging, forklift, affected employee clearance and cryogenic oxygen systems.
Employee must use appropriate safety precautions, including those specific to cryogenic liquid oxygen systems), and personal protective equipment while performing work.
Employee must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds; stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time on concrete floors/open grating; climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; walk on uneven ground; bend, squat, push, pull, twist; and perform work above shoulder height.


Supervision Received:

Will be under the general supervision of the Manager, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition, Product Manager, and/or Manager. And, will work under the direction of a foreman, who assigns and checks work during progress and checks completed work for proper performance.
