The Cementing Supervisor is responsible for the cementing well process from the calculations to preparing a well for production. This position will ensure job performance is of high quality, equipment is maintained at a high level, pump operation is performed per Axis management and operating procedures and effective coordination with the customer representative on all job aspects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Provide the planning necessary for the job including instructions to the crew and equipment used.
•Ensures customer satisfaction with work performance.
•Provide front-line support to crew to ensure quality cementing operations.
•Responsible for performing cementing calculations and the preparation of the slurry for pumping into the wellbore.
•Ensure the equipment pressure testing is conducted routinely per quality standards.
•Accurately completes any documentation required pre- and post-production job.
•May assist during rigging-up and rigging-down of cementing service equipment on work locations.
•Lead job safety analysis (JSA) meetings on well site location.
•Will walk well site location to ensure rig up is per Axis standards.
•Identify any hazardous issues at the well site and will report immediately to operations management.
•Ensures compliance with Axis Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, guidelines and regulations, promoting safety awareness and environmental consciousness.
•Performing other duties as assigned by operations management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education.
•Must have valid state issued driver license with acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
•One year of experience leading a cementing crew.
•3-5 years of demonstrated experience working cementing operations, cement and chemical mixing and cement pumping operations for oil field services companies.
•Ability to calculate well-bore volumes, pump volumes and capable of displacing well fluid with cement.
•Ability to travel as job requires.
•Mobility, including entering confined spaces, enter areas by the use of ladders or other access devices up to 15 ft.; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk.
•Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English.
•Basic math skills and problem solving and organizational skills.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendors and other employees.

•Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for up to 25 feet.

•Safely Climb and descend ladders up to 20 rungs.
•Frequent kneeling and rising without assistance
•Safely operate hand tools (i.e. pipe wrenches, 5 lbs. sledgehammers, mallets, box end wrenches, adjustable wrenches, pry bars, etc.)
•Demonstrate grip strength (approximately 80-100 lbs.).
•Demonstrated ability to walk and/or work standing for at least one hour without a break.
•Adequate vision and hearing required to safely work and communicate in hazardous areas around oil and gas wells.
