Our office is in the heart of Nashville. We maintain a comprehensive staff of full-time salaried employees and we carry all of the appropriate license classifications to perform a variety of utility work. Walker Building Group, LLC owns and operates a wide variety of equipment ranging from pickup trucks to wheel loaders. We also have an outstanding relationship with our rental equipment partners. With our internally-owned equipment coupled with our rental relationships, we feel that we have more than adequate access to any equipment needed for our projects.
There is typically only one CDL Driver- Class A- Dump Truck Driver assigned to each crew, therefore this is considered a key position.
CDL Driver- Class A- Dump Truck Driver with operate truck to destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area. The essential duties of the job are:
1. Operate a single- or tandem-axle dump truck and other vehicles requiring a CDL-Class A
2. Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies and site-specific safety plans
3. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
4. Load (and unload) equipment from vehicles and trailers
5. Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on vehicle(s) to make sure they are in good working order
6. Keep a record of vehicle inspections and make sure the truck is operating safely and efficiently
8. Assists crew in miscellaneous tasks as needed

· Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience driving a Dump truck requiring a CDL Class A license
· Construction industry experience, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience a plus
· Communicate and collaborate with other employees effectively
· Maintain ethical conduct inside and outside the workplace
· Manage time effectively and work independently when not being supervised
· Must be willing to keep truck inside and our (cleaning supplies are provided by the company)
While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 500 pm. An estimated 48-50 hours a week.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
