Job Summary: As Category Manager - Foodservice, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing Refuel’s proprietary hot food strategy across 240+ stores. Reporting to the Senior Director of Foodservice, you’ll be responsible for analyzing internal sales data, optimizing cost of goods, vendor relationships, promotional strategies, and synergies across departments. This role requires strong vendor management skills, a keen understanding of food operations, and the ability to align cross-functional partners around profitable and scalable menu execution.
- Support execution of strategic plans for hot food categories (e.g., breakfast, bakery, roller grill)
- Track and report on category-level financial performance: margin, cost of goods, and rebates
- Identify and recommend actions to improve financial performance across programs using market and trend data
- Assists with setting up food service in new stores
- Coordinate with vendors for product setup, pricing, packaging specs, and contract compliance
- Manage rebate programs, product timelines, and item transitions
- Collaborate with procurement and food partners to vet new products or menu refreshes
- Work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Training to ensure menu items and rollouts are executable, well-communicated, and aligned to brand standards
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for item-level performance and program questions
- Assist in the creation of documentation for standard operating processes, training guides, and rollout checklists
- Partner with the analyst team to deliver reporting on sales, margin, and adoption rates
- Present results and insights to leadership to support test/scale/handoff decisions
- Maintain category calendars and platform launch tracking dashboards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:
- Category management, foodservice merchandising, or quick service restaurant retail
- Convenience retail, grocery, or franchised food platforms
- Strong analytical and Excel skills (Power BI & PDI exposure is a plus)
- Excellent communicator, highly organized, and comfortable working cross-functionally
- Passion for food, innovation, and building scalable systems
Education and Experience: An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- 2-5 years’ experience in category management, foodservice merchandising, or quick service restaurant retail
- Experience with convenience retail, grocery, or franchised food platforms preferred
Working environment and physical requirements: Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Must be able to remain stationary.
Travel: Must be able to travel up to 25%.
