Job Summary
Repair, replace, or construct various types of structures and finishes using different types of construction materials while under the direction of a lead carpenter or foreman.
Primary Responsibilities
•Comfortably and safely work on uneven surfaces, at various heights, and in fluctuating weather environments
•Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions
•Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, metal, and drywall
•Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
•Familiar with the general layout and checking installation for trueness
•Understanding of construction measurements, methods, and specifications
•Proficient in the safe and proper use of both hand and power tools
•Erect prefabricated buildings
•Maintain communications with the foreman or leadsman of any questions, necessary deviations, or required documentation
•Take necessary steps to protect Jobsite surroundings from damage while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
•Be aware of all first aid, safety equipment, MSDS information, and any project-specific safety procedures
•Become familiar with the scope of work and the materials being utilized. Follow all design and manufacturer specifications
•Ability to lift and carry 60lbs.
•Competent with erecting and working on scaffolding
•Capable of bending over, kneeling, or standing for extended periods
•Positive attitude and willingness to take direction and work with a team
•Detail-oriented and possess problem-solving skills
•Comfortable working both independently and in commercial settings with other trades
•Assist with the use and care of all company equipment & materials. Take appropriate steps to notify foreman or office staff of any damage or necessary maintenance
