The Engineering CAD Drafter provides support to engineers by preparing detail technical drawings, assembly drawings, routine layouts, analysis of assembly to confirm proper fitment and function along with the creation for a project bill of materials. This position will report to the Detailing Supervisor.
- Prepares drawings and visual aids using CAD software (AutoCAD)
- Applies prescribed standard techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment
- Works with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet clients or project specifications
- Performs routine technical work and exercises limited judgment on details of work
- Acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
- Records a written summary of data for all project responsibilities
- Create and maintains filing systems as assigned
- Prepares document deliverables
- Collaborate with Engineer in verifying total design meets customer need
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
- Proficient in ACAD, Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to work independently or in groups and is self-motivated
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions- 7+ year’s experience of technical CAD required - 5+ year’s experience in Auto CAD software program, preferred
- Experience in CAD 3D drawing programs (ie. Inventor) is a plus
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering setting, preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Sciences, preferred
