The Weld Buyer/Planner is responsible for supporting the overall planning, scheduling, and buying of the weld department, including outsourced items that fall under weld.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Buying:
•Review ERP system generated planned purchase orders and release necessary purchase orders.
•Ensure timely receipt of all open purchase orders; manage on-time delivery and expedite any late orders from suppliers.
•Assist with sourcing of a variety of outside services.
•Contact suppliers in regard to any nonconforming material, potential returns and credit.
•Ensure uninterrupted flow of materials to work-centers while keeping inventory at the lowest optimum level.
•Outsource WO & PO management / closure.
•Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
•Communicate expectations to Vendors
•Provide monthly and quarterly forecasts to vendors
•Update pricing and MOQ’s as necessary , review PPV for system STD needing updating
•Other duties as directed.
Planning:
•Analyze and release all work orders.
•Weekly work order management including ECN notifications and non-conforming material control.
•Schedule production for all assigned work centers through SV.
•Create weekly OEE report and run the meeting with the plant manager and lead.
•Coordinate schedule and have daily weld schedule meeting.
•Identify discrepancies in work orders and production planning schedules.
•Work with other planners and leads ensure that your work orders will be on time.
Other duties as directed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of experience and education.
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP
Special Requirements: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Language Skills: Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, reports, regulations and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
Reasoning Ability
Identify and resolve problems and meet timelines in a dynamic work environment.
