Business Development & Sales Leader, Data Centers is a senior-level commercial position that involves leading a sales team, identifying, championing, and securing growth opportunities in the data center markets in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. They are responsible for the development of the commercial growth strategy and sales execution in the data center vertical, yielding sustained, profitable growth for PowerSecure in alignment with PowerSecure’s Strategic Plan. Individual will also work closely with the marketing, project development, operations, and executive leadership to ensure that PowerSecure exceeds customer expectations and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

•

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or business; preferred: master’s degree in engineering and/or business

•

Work experience in US data center markets including direct sales/sales management experience in US data center market; preferred: direct experience with energy management, microgrids, and/or distributed generation as applied to data center applications

•

A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, sales management, and/or product management or a similar role.

•

Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

•

Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.

•

Experienced ability to lead sales resources while partnering with various internal support groups.

•

Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external audiences on technical and financial topics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Develop and execute commercial strategies yielding sustained revenue and profitability growth tailored to data center markets in the US.

•

Lead a dedicated sales team to deliver profitable growth in the data center segment. Provide ongoing support and coaching of sales representatives.

•

Drive a performance-based culture including establishment, management, and attainment of sales targets. Conduct ongoing performance monitoring and intervene on gaps to target.

•

Maintain direct account management responsibility, as directed.

•

Maintain relationships with key clients within the vertical market including establishing PowerSecure as a preferred supplier for on-site energy, grid capacity, and resiliency needs.

•

Understand client needs, anticipate opportunities, and address escalated customer issues.

•

Research and analyze industry trends, customer needs, and pain points across data center developers and hyperscalers.

•

Serve as subject-matter expert on industry developments by assessing ongoing news and publications as well as attending relevant events, workshops, and conferences.

•

Collaborate with Market Engagement team to create engaging campaigns and promotional materials.

Visual and Auditory Skills: Being able to see details up close and at a distance, as well as understanding and speaking clearly, is important

Lifting and Carrying: Some sales roles may require lifting and carrying items, which involves physical exertion

•

Reaching and Handling: Reaching overhead or at shoulder level and handling objects are common task

Business travel is required.
