Business Development Director – Metal Forming / HVAC
We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven
Business Development Director
to spearhead growth in the
Metal Forming
and
HVAC
sectors. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving expansion, leading global partnerships, and managing a lean team of technical sales professionals. As part of the MotulTech organization, this position operates at the intersection of innovation, engineering, and business—with access to a world-class product portfolio and international support structure.
The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering acumen, proven experience in industrial business development, and a confident presence in high-stakes, corporate-level negotiations. You will lead initiatives that shape the future of our industrial segment, influence product strategy, and directly contribute to our bottom line.
This is a remote role with global travel responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth & Leadership
•Define and execute business development strategies to expand market share and profitability across North America and global territories.
•Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets in the
Metal Forming
and
HVAC
industries.
•Represent the organization in high-level negotiations with strategic customers, OEMs, and industry partners.
•Translate customer and market needs into actionable commercial strategies.
Team Management & Development
•Lead and mentor a team of technical sales managers and engineers.
•Foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, innovation, and customer excellence.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and production to align technical capabilities with business goals.
P&L Ownership & Business Operations
•Oversee full P&L responsibility for the segment; track KPIs and financial performance against targets.
•Manage forecasting, pricing strategy, and margin improvement initiatives.
•Ensure alignment with corporate financial objectives and reporting protocols.
Market Intelligence & Representation
•Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to guide strategic planning.
•Act as a senior representative at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings globally.
•Maintain a strong voice for the business unit in internal strategy discussions.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Required:
•8+ years of experience in business development, commercial leadership, or strategic sales in industrial markets—ideally within
metal forming
,
HVAC
, or
lubricants
.
engineering principles
, manufacturing processes, and product development cycles.

, strategic planning and P&L Management.
•Proven leadership experience, with a focus on talent development and team performance.
•Open to significant travel commitments. In the
first 1–2 years

primarily within North America (up to 80%)

Preferred:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
•Multilingual—fluency in a second language such as Spanish, German, or French is a strong asset.
