Bulk Plant Operator

Position Summary

This position is responsible for operating and performing necessary maintenance and repairs of bulk plant, other bulk storage equipment, and compressors. This position will also assist with tracking and management of inventory items in the materials warehouse. They will prepare and perform loading operations for jobs and transport Resource Cementing trucks and trailers as needed.

Essential Functions

•
Oversee plant operations.

•

Handle material and cargo.

•

Load and unload trucks and trailers.

•

Control and operate equipment such as tractors, trucks, and forklifts.

•

Blending and mixing all bulk products for delivery to the well site on time and as per the programmed design.

•

Measuring the appropriate amount of raw material to meet order specifications.

•

Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.

•

Perform preventive and routine maintenance.

•
Perform general housekeeping.

•

Must keep work areas clean.

•

Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary.

•

Must be able to work overtime as required.

•

Must be able to get to the home terminal within 90 minutes for occasional short notice work needs.

•

Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.

•

Must be able to pass DOT drug screens and random drug alcohol screenings per policy.

•

When assigned as a Bulk Plant Operator 2:

•

Ensuring all additives are properly labeled and stored in a safe manner and that all empty drums and pails are disposed of in the proper manner.

•

Replenishing inventory as needed.

•

Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.

•

Conduct area inspections and audits.

Other Responsibilities

•

Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

•

The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school

•

Must have CDL (Class A License)

•

Haz Mat CDL endorsement is preferred

•

Must be able to understand and follow safe working practices

•

Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

•

Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to perform the job duties safely and efficiently

•

Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier

•

When assigned as a Bulk Plant Operator 2:

•

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as Bulk Plant Operator

Physical Requirements

•

The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

•

Must be able to climb stairs, work off of elevated platforms, in severe weather conditions and in confined spaces.

•

Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling.

•

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes and earplugs.
