Our ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing staff, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring operational excellence!
The Shop Manager (Branch Manager) will co-ordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the shop floor of Cool Air Rentals. They will support the work of technical and warehouse staff and will also be one of the front-line persons for the scheduling and co-ordination of installations and removals. - Co-ordinate and manage crews by matching the daily projects with the appropriately skilled journeyman, apprentices or technic.
- Ensure that crews expedite the selection, testing and loading of equipment to ensure a timely departure from the shop.
- Prepare equipment orders the day before and work with technical assistants to pull and test the required equipment.
- Ensure that the prescribed paperwork flow is being carried out in accordance with Cool Air standards.
- Confirm that installation practices are being carried out in accordance with Cool Air standards.
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment to facilitate the flow of equipment both to and from our clients.
- Manage the maintenance schedule and updating of warehouse equipment, tools and machinery
- Ensuring inventory records of equipment are being maintained so availability is easily confirmed in our rental management software.
- Schedule technical staff for training and upgrades where required, particularly hoisting and lifting equipment operating in the warehouse.
- Work with technical team when auditing new inventory items as they are readied for service to make sure the information is gathered and disseminated properly.
- Document equipment damage and forward costing to Rental Co-Ordinator.
- Manage replacement parts orders. working with Shipper Receiver to sort, catalogue and store.
- Fluency in English is required (clear telephone voice)
- Must be able to manage a technical workforce and command the respect the position deserves.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required, rental & inventory management experience an asset.
- Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, and/or stock pickers helpful.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- High school diploma and post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Technical aptitude with strong math skills.
- HVAC or mechanical knowledge an asset.
- Calm and professional under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, thrive in an organized workspace and be passionate about keeping that way.
- Ability to multitask and problem solve.
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, and positive attitude.
