SUMMARY*
The BMS Field Technician assumes responsibility for providing technical services related to the installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of Burner Management Systems while maintaining effective communications with fellow team members and clients. The BMS Field Technician must perform his duties to assure the safety of himself and those around him and ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the work area. The duties and responsibilities of the Field Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Technician assumes responsibility for providing technical services related to the installation, troubleshooting, testing, and preventative maintenance of Burner Management Systems while maintaining effective communications with fellow team members and the safety and cleanliness of the work area. These duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•Travels onsite to complete service work and monthly preventative maintenance requirements.
•Inspects, investigates and troubleshoots equipment for quality control and improvements.
•Provides technical support to necessary persons (customers, manufacturers, distributors, etc.) for product installations, troubleshooting, and training.
•Onsite training, installation, and support to necessary persons.
•Manages and maintains truck stock of inventory.
•Secures appropriate parts and supplies through designated procurement system.
•Ensures all appropriate records are maintained such inventories of parts, equipment and tools, work orders, timesheets, etc.
•Maintains cleanliness of the work area and associated equipment.
•Proactively responds and adapts in the work environment to meet the highest standards.
•Prioritizes and coordinates work activities to complete jobs individually and as a team.
•Secures appropriate parts and supplies through designated procurement system.
•Expresses ideas clearly in written and oral communication with team members and management to complete various jobs.
•Understands and utilizes safety procedures and safety equipment at all times.
•Seeks growth in expanding knowledge and skills through training and education.
•Presents self in clean, neat, professional manner and wears company uniform (if provided) in its entirety.
•Communicates questions and concerns to management.
•Engages in the company’s vision and seeks to implement processes and establish goals with the company’s vision in mind.
•Performs other miscellaneous duties assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•Excellent customer support and troubleshooting skills.
•Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, operations, and duties.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding when dealing with any problem.
•Ability to perform moderate to advanced math skills including, but not limited to, calculations, percentages, etc.
•Innovative and able to work in a fast paced, highly competitive environment.
•Ability to apply moderate- advanced knowledge of computers and office equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
•Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above shoulder.
•Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements.
•Average close/distance vision necessary in order to record data and operate equipment.
•Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others.
•Must be able to hear the various equipment in order to diagnose issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•Previous Oilfield experience and knowledge with Burner Management Systems is preferred.
•Oil & gas: 2 years (Preferred)
•Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred
•Safe Land certified preferred
•High School diploma, or equivalent
