The Bartender is responsible for creating a service driven atmosphere that will inspire guests to return for multiple occasions by providing guests an unforgettable experience. The Bartender will be responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. The Bartender must be able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations. The Bartender will interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have an excellent and safe experience.
The Bartender will report directly to the Bar Manager.
· Responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving beverages/orders to guests.
· Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
· Complete business transactions by using POS system and cash management.
· Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
· Must follow policies and procedures in accordance to the company, brand, and applicable state and local laws, including checking customers’ identification to ensure they meet age requirements.
· Maintaining a safe and secure bar environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; judging when customers have consumed too much alcohol; calling for alternate transportation and complying with all legal regulations.
· Must keep the bar counter and work area neat, clean, and attractive at all times.
· Regularly inspect and clean equipment to ensure excellent working condition and sanitation – Achieve or maintain safety/health certifications for self and follow health and safety rules.
· Must demonstrate excellent customer service and interaction – promptly and efficiently respond to all guest inquires, complaints, or needs.
· Ensure that bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed in serving guests.
· Provide guidance/information to guests in regards to hotel facilities, dining options, and area information.
· Previous bartending experience preferred – Hospitality bartending is a plus
· Previous experience with POS system and cash management
· State health and /or alcohol compliance card required
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
