Automation Engineer Intern

- Kollmorgen Internship Program provides an accelerated training and professional development for college students who wish to pursue a career in Manufacturing, Design, Sales, or Product Development. The program will give students the opportunity to get exposed to the various facets of Kollmorgen’s lean manufacturing environment. The program will build on your technical skills by providing you a role with significant responsibility as well as exposure to experienced business leaders, mentors, and subject matter experts.

- Based upon the success of the internship, the Intern will be offered a full-time position with Kollmorgen.

Assignments

- Likely assignments can include Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Applications Engineer, Software Engineer and Test & Automation Engineer.

- Below is a description of a few of these potential assignments. Selection of the assignment will involve the participant’s preference, availability of the assignment, and the needs of the organization. The specific responsibilities within each assignment may vary based upon the immediate needs of the business.

Automation Engineer

- The automation engineering team works closely with the operations and manufacturing engineering teams. The engineer is responsible for the test analysis, software development, and maintenance of test equipment, programs, and fixtures related to the development, fabrication, and production of products. These products will include electromagnetic devices such as motors as well as higher-level assemblies that may include motors, gears, lead screws, etc.

Education And/or Experience

- Pursuing a 4-year Engineering degree.

- Must have strong written and oral communication skills for direct and frequent communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.

- Must have good interpersonal skills for our multi-functional team environment.

- Ability to work with all levels, including management and production personnel, to resolve technical issues that are identified through the manufacturing process.
