As an Engineering intern at Knobelsdorff (KE) you will be aligned with a primary division but while also coordinating with the other divisions to gain additional process and project specific exposure and learning. You will be working closely with our Design, Pre-Construction and Project teams to observe the design-build process by reconciling design-intent models with as-built conditions, supporting self-performing field teams. With projects nationwide, including Energy Division behind-the-meter, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Community Solar Gardens (CSG), and Distributed Generation (DG) solar energy; Electrical and Automation Division industrial processing facilities, distribution centers and data centers; and Power Services Division commissioning and testing projects, you will gain exposure to details that directly impact the successful execution of electrical projects of all scopes and sizes.
Details and Processes You May Observe/Have Exposure to:
- Coordinating work and construction documents with internal stakeholders.
- Modeling of equipment and raceways layouts in both 2 and 3D.
- Exposure to industry specific software tools for design and analysis of project specifics.
- Designing and working with electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, switchgear, motor control centers, panel boards, and control cabinets.
- Create and edit schedules such as panel schedules and conduit/cable schedules.
- Project specific equipment, installation and quality exposure in coordination between internal and external design personnel and construction personnel.
- On site exposure to build comprehension of drawing details to construction activities.

- Seeking an education in Electrical Engineering or other engineering disciplines.
- Ability to work in our Goodhue, MN location 5 days/week.
- Ability to report progress daily to the leadership team, to ensure intern tasks and projects are completed on time.
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Competency in Microsoft applications included Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Willing to work on some out-of-town projects.
- Additional duties as assigned.
