- Provide technical leadership and oversight on project-specific work, including delegating, reviewing, and executing engineering activities
- Manage project engineering tasks such as customer/vendor communication, scheduling, preparing purchase requisitions, and authorizing work packages
- Develop design models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks and other 3D CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards
- Perform engineering calculations to support design and modeling efforts
- Conduct assembly, testing, and inspection of mechanical components and systems
- Define procurement requirements and collaborate with purchasing to source mechanical components
- Prepare comprehensive drawing packages and documentation in compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures
- Review engineering drawings for accuracy, proper tolerances, and manufacturability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, production, and other teams to ensure design requirements are met
- Organize and manage project data using engineering data management tools
- Evaluate existing product designs and processes, providing recommendations for improvements in performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and core mechanical engineering principles
- Proven experience managing projects from concept through completion (“cradle to grave”), with the ability to see designs progress from initial idea to fully functioning equipment producing tangible results
- Must have a strong understanding for machining and fabrication practices and standards
- Proficiency in Autodesk and SolidWorks, 2D and 3D
- Excellent mathematical skills, including geometry, calculus, and applied physics
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Creative and innovative approach to design and engineering challenges
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present technical concepts clearly
- Skilled in technical documentation, presentations, and graphical visualization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related productivity tools
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in cross-functional environments
- Commercial and economic awareness, with an understanding of user needs and market considerations
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
