Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Associate (Internship).

The Associate Engineer of Control System (Intern) is tasked with the responsibility of supporting the design, configuration, and testing of control systems.
BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support the team’s project engineering schedule reviews/tracking, deliverable submittals/statuses, and action items.
•Supports team’s engineering execution activities performing HMI computer, Control System configuration and testing.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the group.
•Ability to perform multi-tasks and multidisciplinary communication.
•Perform other such duties as may be required.

•Education and/or Experience: Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering from four-year, ABET accredited college or university
•Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information
•Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Computer Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, networking concepts, computer programming languages, flow charts, etc.
Technical Skills:
•Foundational knowledge of control systems and instrumentation
•Exposure to PLCs, HMI interfaces, or embedded platforms is a plus
•Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++)
•Understanding of control logic, system architecture, and signal processing
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting
•Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
Computer Skills:
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
•Familiarity with engineering databases or modeling tools is a plus
Interests:
•Interest in control systems, automation, energy solutions, and hands-on technical work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stand or walk. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving objects up to 10 pounds. Work is typically performed in an office or lab setting. Hearing protection or PPE may be required in specific areas.
