The Frankfort Plant Board’s (FPB) electric and water systems serve approximately 21,000 customers in the City of Frankfort and the surrounding areas of Franklin, Shelby, and Woodford Counties. Our utility also offers a fiber optic network offering broadband and streaming services. With 200 dedicated employees, FPB is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to fill the position of the Assistant General Manager (Asst. GM).
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the activities of operations in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the General Manager and the Board of Directors. The Asst GM is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Electric, Water Treatment Plant, Water Distribution, Support Services, Electric Engineering, Water Engineering, Network Operations Center, Telecommunication Departments and other departments as needed. This individual directs specific work activities, when necessary, through the appropriate subordinate department heads and supervisors.; administers special projects and performs related work as required.
The Frankfort Plant Board will require exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. The Assist. GM will interact with diverse individuals including Board Members, public officials, media representatives and customers. Strong negotiating abilities and a talent for building consensus will be key attributes for this position.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Administration, or closely related field preferred, Engineering degree preferred but not required.
Seven years of directly related work experience in utilities, including a minimum of five years in an administrative or supervisory capacity including project management.
