Assistant Distribution Operators (ADOs) work an 8-hour rotating shift in our 24/7 Distribution System Operations Control Room which coordinates the work of personnel engaged in the safe and reliable operation of the electric and gas distribution systems. An ADO must possess the ability and skills necessary to fully operate various software programs that the Company utilizes to monitor and control the electric and gas distribution systems, assess storm damage, assign and dispatch field personnel, and optimize crew and work schedules. An ADO must be able to multitask, communicate effectively to direct field personnel, and collaborate in an interactive team environment.
What does it take to be an Assistant Distribution Operator?
+ Associate’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Science or other technology related field (preferred) + 3+ years of experience in electric or gas operations or engineering, power plant operations or maintenance, emergency response dispatch, or military, with at least one of the following:
- (i) Nine (9) credit hours in Engineering, Mechanical Science or other technology related field
- (ii) Military technical training
- (iii) Nuclear training
- (iv) Other applicable documented training programs
