Assistant Director of Maintenance

About the Role
A fast-growing Part 135 charter and aircraft management company is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM) to join its leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement.
Role Summary
The ADOM is responsible for leading and coordinating all daily operations of the Maintenance Department, including:
•Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
•Parts Procurement & Inventory Management
This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a modern and expanding fleet under FAA Part 135 regulations.
Key Responsibilities
•Oversee all day-to-day functions within the Maintenance Department
•Supervise maintenance control, planning, and parts procurement activities
•Act as the delegate for the Director of Maintenance as needed
•Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies
•Lead and develop a team of maintenance controllers, planners, and support staff
•Implement improvements to drive reliability and accountability
•Act as liaison between operations, vendors, technicians, and leadership
•Monitor MELs, deferrals, inspections, and due items across the fleet
•Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting
•Provide hands-on support for line events, troubleshooting, or recovery efforts as needed
Requirements
•5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
•2+ years in a management or leadership position
•In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 135 operations and compliance
•Proven ability to manage maintenance control, parts, and planning teams
•Challenger 300/350 experience is required
•Strong organizational and communication skills
•Proficiency with systems such as CAMP, Flightdocs, Traxall, etc.
•Ability to lead in fast-paced environments and make sound decisions
•Willingness to be available during irregular hours when needed
Preferred Qualifications
•Avionics experience strongly preferred
•Experience with floating fleets or multi-aircraft operations
•Prior experience in Part 135 or charter environments
