Position Description
CCWD is seeking skilled, motivated, team oriented, permanent full-time assistant or associate engineers in both Engineering (Construction Division) and Planning Departments. These appointments can be made at either the assistant or associate level, depending on the successful applicants' qualifications. These positions will be located at our Administrative Office in Concord, CA. What you will typically be responsible for in the Planning Department:
•Being an integral member of the Planning Department working on projects of which you will take primary ownership.
•Building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Performing project management duties of assigned projects, identifying critical path elements, and priority tasks.
•Assessing and managing risks to project scope, schedule, and budget.
•Being a technical resource throughout CCWD.
•Administering consultant contracts and coordinating consultant work with project stakeholders.
What you will typically be responsible for in the Engineering Department (Construction Division):
•Being an integral member of the Engineering Construction Team responsible for delivering the construction phase of projects within CCWD's Capital Improvement Program, including improvements to the treated and untreated water storage and distribution systems, water treatment plants, dams, and untreated water reservoirs.
•Managing construction of new applicant services projects.
•Building and maintaining positive working relationships with employees and contractors.
•Developing project schedules and identifying priority tasks and critical path elements.
•Working closely with the Engineering Construction Team in support of public works projects.
•Administering consultant contracts and coordinating consultant work with project stakeholders.
