The Opportunity
Our Asset Information Management (AIM) Program team is looking to add an
#Energy. Connected.professional in Calgary to support a large-scale AIM technology implementation initiative.
We are seeking a collaborative Business Analyst who has knowledge and experience in business process analysis, data flow mapping, and stakeholder engagement. This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to define business requirements, support system integration, and contribute to successful AIM solution delivery.
What You’ll Do Supporting Business Analyst:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements for AIM technology
- Develop and analyze options and create recommendations for approval
- Map and analyze current business processes, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement Analyze and map data flows between interfaced systems, defining data inputs, outputs, formats, and protocols
- Define rules to ensure data consistency, integrity, and validation across interfaces
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for asset management software or databases
- Create and review documentation including user stories, use cases, process flows, data dictionaries, and integration protocols
- Ensure interfaces comply with relevant standards, security protocols, and regulations
- Support development and execution of test scenarios to validate business requirements
- Monitor system performance post-implementation and recommend enhancements
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders to ensure clear communication
- Support and review the development of training materials
- Author and publish communication materials for Program stakeholders
- Ensure system compliance with regulatory, industry, and organizational standards
- Identify and document risks related to data integrity and system implementation
- Prepare and update program management artifacts including presentations and status reports
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Systems, Engineering)
- Seven (7) plus years of business analysis experience, including 3+ years in the energy industry.- Experience facilitating discovery, design, and review sessions with business stakeholders
- Understanding of data governance and data management principles and tools
- Knowledge of asset, asset information, and capital project lifecycles
- Familiarity with information management, document control, drafting, and/or master data management processes
- Working knowledge of data flow diagrams, business process diagrams, design documents, technical specifications, and database query languages
- Proficiency in creating communication, presentation, and training materials
