Architecture Technician
Summary Of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Architect and CSA Engineering Director, the Architecture Technician will be responsible for designing and developing architectural work for industrial and infrastructure buildings. The incumbent drafts, details and prepares construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards. He or She coordinates with a variety of disciplines and stakeholders to support the design, procurement, estimation of capital expenditures and execution of work. Finally, the Technician ensures alignment between design and on-site activities to ensure project success. More specifically, the responsibilities consist of the following:
•Prepare drawings, specifications, scope of work and construction documentation.
•Design and document industrial buildings in accordance with local and international codes and regulations.
•Develop and manage architecture budgets (CAPEX), contributing to cost analysis and procurement strategies.
•Coordinate the selection and acquisition of architectural materials, including review of vendor submissions.
•Consult with internal teams and clients to define design requirements.
•Organize and manage design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
•Lead or support architectural studies for new structures and site development.
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including those working remotely.
•Provide innovative and practical solutions to design and coordination issues.
•Modify existing architectural designs to meet project specific conditions.
•Coordinate with project planners and controllers to ensure accurate progress reports.
•Liaise with various stakeholders on site, including craft teams, subcontractors, quality control department and designers.
•Ensure construction activities comply with federal, state and local codes as well as internal standards and contractual obligations.
•Provide site support and supervise architectural work as required.
•Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental compliance at all project sites.
•During site visits or rotations, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toed boots and long-sleeved shirts in accordance with the health and safety plan.
•Maintain physical and mental readiness to work in challenging site environments and during extended hours without compromising safety.
Requirements
•College diploma in architectural technology.
•Proven progressive 5-7 years experience in architectural design and construction of similar or large industrial installations.
•Demonstrated experience working on active construction sites and with multi-disciplinary teams.
•Demonstrated knowledge of applicable construction, environmental and safety standards and codes.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
•Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit and architectural visualization tools.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, in french and english.

Additional Information
•The position is based at the G Mining Services’ office in Brossard, with the possibility of working in a hybrid mode. Office presence is expected for a minimum of 3 days per week.
•Occasional travel abroad and within Canada is required.
