Job Summary
The Analyst, Project Management supports the execution activities for capital projects through the Front-End Loading, Detailed Design, Construction, Start-up and Project Closeout phases of the project cycle. The Analyst, Project Management works directly with the Project Engineering Manager and Project Managers for the Capital Projects Group in supporting the successful execution and governance of capital projects by providing analytical, planning, and coordination support throughout the project lifecycle.
The analyst collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, finance, procurement, and other cross-functional teams to support the development, execution, and closeout of projects.
Location/Travel Information
This position is primarily based at the Headquarters of Freeport LNG in Houston with frequent expected travel to other company locations in and near Freeport TX, such as liquefaction and pretreatment facilities as required. Project Manager Analyst may also travel to EPC company office in greater Houston area, and occasionally to vendor or supplier offices and manufacturing facilities both domestically and international as project needs and resource availability dictate. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license and a TWIC at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Duties/Responsibilities
Project Funding & Approvals Support
•Assist in preparing and updating Project Intake and Approved for Expenditure (AFE) forms to initiate and maintain capital project funding processes.
•Coordinate stakeholder reviews and approvals to ensure alignment and compliance with project governance procedures.
•Conduct Net Present Value (NPV) and other financial analyses to support evaluation of project alternatives.
•Maintain up-to-date staffing plans, execution strategies, and related documentation throughout the project development cycle.
•Support the preparation of presentations and documentation for Executive Committee meetings, ensuring alignment with decision-making timelines.
Project Management Reporting•Lead the monthly update of the Project Management Information System (PMIS) in SmartSheet, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the Capital Projects portfolio.
•Collaborate with the Financial Planning department to collect and validate cost and budget data, and manage entry into project tracking tools.
•Provide detailed reporting on project performance metrics, variances, and forecasts.
Executive-Level Meeting Support•Prepare and edit materials and slide decks for biweekly Executive Meetings, supporting senior leadership with high-quality visuals and concise project updates.
•Ensure timely delivery and alignment of content with project timelines and strategic priorities.
Projects Group Operational Support•Develop and maintain templates, trackers, and presentations using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
•Assist the Projects Group leadership in creating board presentations, status reports, and data-driven visuals to communicate performance, risks, and opportunities.
Meeting Coordination & Documentation•Organize and coordinate regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including project kickoffs, reviews, and workshops.
•Prepare agendas, facilitate follow-ups, and ensure accurate Minutes of Meeting (MoM) are captured, distributed, and tracked.
Department Planning & Resourcing•Maintain and update the Capital Projects Group staffing plan, ensuring resource allocation reflects project needs and organizational changes.
•Support workforce forecasting, onboarding timelines, and skillset tracking in coordination with HR and project leads.
Project Governance and Controls•Establish and maintain Project RACI matrices (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed), ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
•Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in project controls.
Project Closeout & Knowledge Capture•Support Project Managers in the development of Project Closeout Reports, ensuring all deliverables are finalized and archived.
•Facilitate the collection and organization of lessons learned, contributing to the Projects Group's knowledge database for future project reference and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Minimum Education: Associates Degree in Business Management
Minimum Experience: 3 years of Project experience, must include LNG, oil & gas, refinery, and industrial projects
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management
Preferred Certifications: CAPM training or certification and Smartsheet Inc.

Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority and cultivating a strong safety culture inclusive of stop work authority in all activities completed within the area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
