We are searching for an analyst in the Energy Accounting & Settlements area. This position will be responsible for the timely and accurate settlement of all physical and financial wholesale energy transactions conducted with the Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market as well as daily activities related to counterparty billing and payments. The successful candidate will have a sound analytical & financial foundation, an appreciation and interest in challenging assignments in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and a clear desire and aptitude for professional growth and development.
Performing functions necessary to support daily cash settlements with ERCOT and other external counterparties.
Ensuring all settlement transactions are per contracts and protocols.
Performing functions necessary to support the month-end close process, including settlement sub-ledger and post-analysis reconciliations.
From large volumes of dynamic data, analyzing and documenting cost allocation results, including making recommendations to management on allocating costs between operational strategies.
Providing input on design requirements of the settlement system.
Monitoring PCI System performance and communicating and tracking issues with vendor and/or EMO IT.
Preparing reports to comply with requirements of PUCT, ERCOT, and internal accounting.
Performing ERCOT protocol research in order to evaluate the impact and determine proper implementation of complex settlement standards.
Writing position papers to ensure that implementation of protocols is well documented and consistent with guidance provided by ERCOT.
Consulting with independent auditors on accounting matters and disclosure requirements as required.
Providing support for the annual IT general controls audit as part of the financial audit.
Preparing PBCs and other supporting schedules for the annual external audit.
Communicating and responding to inquiries, both in writing and verbally, to all levels of CPS Energy on post analysis allocation theory and concepts.
Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex issues independently leveraging internal and external resources
Extensive experience as an accountant/analyst or in a related field.
Knowledge of accounting/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing financial and operational solutions.
Relative experiences in financial/project management for Operational Units.
Solid understanding of financial principles, financial statements and associated processes and tools.
Initiative to work independently or as a member of a team, coordinating with others to achieve desired results.
High level of accuracy of work and attention to detail, to include the ability to perform precise mathematical calculations.
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of a particular field of specialization to complete complex assignments.
Ability to multi-task various critical work assignments in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner.
Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential information.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel.
Ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal direct supervision.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field from an accredited university.
