We are hiring one (1) full-time, temporary (up to 12 months) Analyst, Cost Control position working out of Edmonton, AB.
As the Analyst, Cost Control, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost control systems for the BlueSky project and other Commercial Services programs, including creating project control templates, supporting monthly and annual cost forecasts, and reporting cost performance. You will oversee portfolio-level analysis and monitoring budgets, forecasts, cash flows, risks, and recovery, while ensuring adherence to project control standards and processes for special projects like BlueSky and Sandow, from initiation to completion.

- Setting up cost systems, monitoring and tracking expenses, and administering change processes; coordinating with scheduler for cash flow forecasting.
- Developing and maintaining templates for forecasting, tracking, and reporting, including dashboards.
- Assisting managers in generating and analyzing accruals, actuals, forecasts, and variances.
- Collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends, and reporting cost performance.
- Providing training and guidance on financial processes and controls planning to the project team.
- Assisting with budget and forecast preparation, including analysis.
- Supporting KPI data collection and reporting.
- Creating standardized Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) for reporting consistency.
- Assisting Project Managers and the Project Controls Manager in preparing and reviewing external project reports.
- Applying project controls expertise to resolve cost issues and support recovery plans.
- Providing guidance and feedback for general contractors’ labor, equipment and productivity throughout a project life cycle.
- Creating and maintaining various staff, craft and equipment templates.
- Seeking continuous improvement opportunities in business practices to enhance cost control and reporting business practices.
- Collaborating with estimators and schedulers to implement robust project control systems and processes.
- Building strong relationships and providing support to the project team.
- Demonstrating a high performance, highly disciplined, achievement-oriented, safety-conscious manner of working.
- Two-year post-secondary in Business, Finance Accounting or a Technical Diploma is required.
- 5+ years of directly related experience in the area of project controls and data analytics.- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel applications for financial analysis.
- 1-2 years of Primavera P6 working knowledge is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of various decision support tools (MS Excel, MS Project, Oracle BI).
- Understanding with all phases of projects from inception to commissioning.
- Understanding of EPCOR financial processes is considered an asset.
- Knowledge with intercompany billing between companies in Canada and the United States.
- Ability to frequently transition between working independently and supporting team initiatives.

Wage: Starting at $47.18 per hour; Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in theCollective Agreement.
Hours of work: 80 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday
