We are looking for a
Project Cost Control Analyst
to join our ENMAX Technical Services Project Controls group. The Project Cost Control Analyst is an integral project team member who will support Project Management in the planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out of projects.
The Analyst will analyze complex data and transform it into useful information which can be used to measure actual project performance against the agreed plan and use this information to recommend future actions and predict outcomes.
Major Responsibilities•Plan and manage sustaining capital, growth, transmission, substation, and distribution project costs by monitoring and analyzing estimates, budgets, and actuals.
•Develop tools and procedures to implement industry-recognized earned value control measures that accurately reflect cost impacts.
•Act as the cost and reporting expert on capital projects, facilitating execution and decision-making.
•Monitor actual and committed costs against budgets, measuring performance and progress, and analyzing variances.
•Review subcontractor estimates and change notices, support project change control practices.
•Present project status updates, including work in progress, commitments, and forecasted estimates at completion, to various stakeholders.
•Identify and quantify cost and schedule impacts due to design, material, or labor changes.
•Develop and validate cost-coding structures to ensure accurate charge allocation.
•Coordinate with project teams to review work orders, update expenditure estimates, and maintain logs and records.
•Prepare regular performance reports to track cost and progress, highlighting deviations and trends.
•Identify potential issues and recommend corrective or preventive actions based on data analysis and forecasting.
•Review change request estimates for accuracy and completeness; support leadership in assessing cost and schedule impacts.
•Ensure accurate recording of all labor, service, equipment, and material costs in the system of record.
•Support Supply Chain and Procurement activities related to contractor requirements and project health updates.
•Evaluate contractor and vendor performance in terms of cost, schedule, and management practices, including equipment and material costs.
•Conduct process and procedure gap analyses, providing recommendations and mitigations.
•Create financial models to support planning, decision-making, and reconciliations.
•Perform advanced data analysis using pivot tables, lookup functions, complex formulas, and large data sets to generate actionable metrics.
Education Required
•University degree in Business and/or Construction Management.
•AACEI CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or PMP is considered an asset.
Qualifications & Experience
•Minimum 7 years of Project Controls or Project Management experience
•Advanced Excel skills such as data validation, generation of pivot tables, complex formulas, goal seek, data reconciliation
•Microsoft Project, Power Plan and Maximo experience
•Experience in implementation of project performance metrics and earned value management Scheduling software (P6), InEight Estimating software and PowerBI experience considered an asset
•Proficient in applying earned value principles, including cost and schedule variance analysis, trending, and scenario modeling.
•Understanding of Project Management principles and techniques, including Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management

Salary:
Analyst Level C (Current CUPE 2025 rates)
$99,626.44 - $105,855.57 - $112,084.70 - $118,313.83 - $124,542.96
Location:
This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
