The Advisor supports the company’s financial reporting and analysis functions, with a particular focus on accounting for regulated utilities and compliance with regulatory standards. What You Will Do

- Support the Capital Assets team during month end close and reporting activities while working well under tight deadlines and being able to constantly reprioritize tasks based on changing business needs

- Assist with review of monthly reporting, including CWIP, PP&E, depreciation, and subledger to GL account reconciliations to ensure balances agree to supporting documentation, schedules and formulas are accurate, variances are properly documented, and judgments are sound and properly supported.

- Provide support to various regulatory requests and filings including assisting in rate rebasing requests

- Identify and lead process improvements, system enhancements, harmonization, and automation initiatives. As well as support Unify (ERP conversion to Oracle Cloud) on upcoming releases

- Coordinate with other Finance groups on month-end close, special projects / requests, and lead all aspects of issue resolution.

- Accountable for internal control activities and audit requests. Understands the Sox controls impacting tasks and ensuring that controls are in place and being followed.

- Analyze and solve sophisticated problems. Make recommendations to management for continuous improvement in accounting and business processes and procedures.

- Exercise professional skepticism in methodology and purpose of assignments as well as in analysis performed during assignments.

Required

Who You Are:

- CPA with a minimum of 4 years directly related experience preferred

- University degree in business, commerce, or related field

- Outstanding interpersonal skills combined with a results-oriented mentality while being able to share knowledge, experience, and training with all team members in a non-biased manner.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and system knowledge using querying tools and pivot tables.

- Demonstrated solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), related systems, processes, and company structure.

- Independently assess, exercise good judgement, and accurately resolve complex issues encountered in the performance of job duties.

- Proactive and skilled at anticipating problems before they arise and implementing mitigations.

- An excellent written and verbal communicator with an ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

Physical Requirements (Include But Are Not Limited To)

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
