The Accounts Payable Clerk provides support to the accounting department which includes computing, classifying, recording and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. This position will assist in completing payments and control expenses by receiving payments, and follow through with processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. Additionally, this role may be given various responsibilities to support other accounting functions or special projects. Duties and responsibilities may be revised to accommodate the company’s administrative needs.
These objectives will be achieved by an experienced, proactive, highly organized and detail-oriented administrator who has solid communication, technology and analytical skills in the operational scope of this growing private-equity backed oil field services company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Maintain all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, vendor
•Accurately record and post transactions in Navision accounting
•Monitor department email and correspond with vendors.
•Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
•Recognize and resolve discrepancy purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies and
•Prepare payment reporting for vendors; monitors discount opportunities
•Verifies federal ID numbers; follow-up receipt for outstanding credit with vendor
•Produce monthly payment status reporting, preparing accounts analysis
•May assist work with company employee expense reporting and reimbursement program, accounts receivable and other accounting functions
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•Minimum High School Degree or equivalent; higher level education or certifications a plus.
•Minimum 2 years related experience in accounting principles, practices and procedures.
•Computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT); Microsoft Navision or Great Plains and databases (e.g. Kronos) a plus
•Working knowledge of data collection, analysis, and ability to evaluate.
•Professional integrity, sense of responsibility and accountability.
•Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking.
•Strong communication skills - verbal and written; attentive listener.
•Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.
