Key Responsibilities

The Business Services Group Division is looking for accountants committed to pursuing a career in accounting. Your application will automatically be considered for all the positions:

- Financial Reporting & Lender Relations –

Gain exposure in preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory and financing agreement compliance, and maintaining relationships with lenders, tax-equity partners, and joint-venture partners. Help coordinate and facilitate the execution of over 120 annual audits across various portfolio companies and ensure accurate presentation and disclosure in accordance with accounting standards.

- Consolidations –

Gain direct exposure to some of Brookfield Renewable’s most unique and exciting new transactions by working directly with Brookfield’s 20 platforms and portfolio companies., through the review of global asset acquisitions, dispositions, financings, etc. as part of the analysis of the consolidated financial results. With more than $100 billion assets and $4.5 billion of liquidity, Brookfield has a best-in-class balance sheet.

- BEP Accounting –

Gain exposure to the world of accounting transactions and implementation of accounting policies relating to our North American portfolios (13,000 MW) of hydroelectric and wind operating and development projects. The BEP Accounting team is responsible for the accounting of over 600 entities, with a total AUM of $30 billion.

- TERP Accounting –

Gain exposure to the world of accounting transactions and implementation of accounting policies relating to our North American portfolios (4,300 MW) of utility-scale solar, distributed energy, fuel cell storage, and wind operating and development projects. TERP accounting is responsible for the accounting of over 1,700 legal entities. TERP is our biggest North American based portfolio company with AUM of $9 billion.

- Financial Planning & Analysis, Taxation, and Financial Reporting (Corporate)

- Competency maps currently under review by CPA Ontario.

Knowledge and Experience Required

- Completed an undergraduate degree and pre-requisites to enter the CPA Professional Education Program.

- Demonstrated leadership and initiator through relevant classes and project work, past employment, case competitions, or volunteer, extra-curricular activities and community involvement

- Excellent business acumen, verbal communication (both one-on-one and in small groups) and written communication skills which include the ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop business relationships with partners and stakeholders

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask with grace and consistency

- Understanding and willingness to embrace Brookfield Renewable’s core values
