Accountant

Taku Gas Limited has an opportunity for an individual to become a part of an Accounting team where the individual will apply their accounting knowledge, experience and well-developed communication skills while developing a more extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas operations. The Company seeks an analytical problem solver, who will provide prompt, complete, relevant and accurate accounting information on the Company’s operated and non-operated properties and complete processing of month-ends. Your ability to resolve issues and work toward resolution with multiple stakeholders will contribute to your success in this role.

- Job location: Calgary, Alberta (In Office)

- Applicable schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Key Accountabilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable, payments, accounts receivable and collections

- Process joint interest billings for operated and non-operated properties from and on the JIB website and complete month end

- Analyze and record operated and non-operated JIBs ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue, royalties, capital, and operating costs within the terms of the governing agreements.

- Perform treasury functions and bank reconciliations.

- Investigate and resolve queries/disputes on operated and non-operated JIBs to manage cashflow.

- Providing analysis and commentary for monthly management reports including communicating receivable collection and payable payment action plans.

- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Joint interest partners and other departments to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives

What You Bring to the Role:

- 5+ years of accounting experience preferably in the oil and gas industry

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent communication skills

- Strong demonstrated Excel skills
