Material Handlers at Merrill Steel use overhead cranes to move structural steel pieces such as columns, I-beams, and trusses, throughout the various departments within the shop. It is crucial that Material Handlers understand weight distribution, have good math skills, and most importantly have a high regard for safety. Safety is key since the product is extremely long and heavy, the Material Handlers must carefully transport these throughout the bays, around working employees, and machines.

- Flexible Scheduling: Second shift operates Sunday – Thursday from 5:00 pm – 5:30 am, Fridays are voluntary. Second shift employees receive a night shift premium of $1.60/hour effective immediately.
