Job Title: Maintenance ‘I&E TECH’ (Instrument and Electronics)

SUMMARY
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment. Designs and diagnoses system controls for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and piping systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane and measuring and testing instruments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); must pass entry level exam for Maintenance ‘A’. Maintenance ‘AA’, ‘AAA’, and I&E Technician must have a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and work areas could have elevated temperatures as well as very cold temperatures.
