Summary
We are seeking a Yard and Grounds Technician to join our dynamic team in Blackfoot, ID. The Yards and Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of all outdoor areas, including lawns, landscaped grounds, walkways, and exterior facilities.
- Perform routine groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, and weeding.
- Apply herbicides and other approved treatments to control weeds and invasive plants, following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Remove debris and trash from facility grounds.
- Responsible for snow and ice removal from walkways, driveways, and parking areas.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, tools, and vehicles safely.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on grounds equipment.
- Monitor irrigation systems and perform adjustments or basic repairs as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and report hazards or maintenance needs promptly.
- Support special projects or seasonal work as assigned.

- Must possess valid, unexpired driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to operate lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and other grounds equipment.
- Basic mechanical and repair skills a plus.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance preferred.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands:
Ability to perform frequent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind). Operate hand tools, power equipment, machinery and snow removal equipment safely and effectively. Perform repetitive tasks such as mowing, trimming, or shoveling for extended periods. Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely perform job duties and operate equipment. Ability to climb ladders, steps, or uneven terrain as required for grounds maintenance.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily outdoors, year-round, in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow). Duties may require exposure to dust, pollen, grasses, fertilizers, and other landscaping materials. Work hours may vary seasonally, with early mornings, weekends, or overtime during peak maintenance or weather-related needs. Safety gear such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, or weather-appropriate clothing may be required depending on tasks.
