Join our dynamic team as a Yard Worker and become a vital part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for supporting the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials within our distribution yard. Your hands-on approach will ensure that shipments are processed smoothly, equipment is operated safely, and the yard remains organized and secure. - Load and unload trucks using various heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes while adhering to safety standards.
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to accurately track inventory movements and order picking activities.
- Assist in order picking processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in selecting items for shipment or restocking.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and documenting all transactions.
- Safely handle materials using appropriate equipment for heavy lifting, materials handling, and construction-related tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized yard environment by performing routine inspections of fencing, gates, and safety signage.
- Support warehouse supervisors with daily operations including load & unload activities, inventory organization, and equipment maintenance.
- Operate heavy machinery such as cranes or clamp trucks with mechanical knowledge to move large or bulky items safely.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or related construction environments is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with order picker machines, forklift operation, crane operation, or clamp trucks is essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining proper safety techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance is a plus.
- Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications for crane or clamp truck operation are advantageous.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse and construction sites.
- Experience with pallet jacks and other materials handling tools required for efficient yard management.
