Master Drilling Canada LTD. is seeking a dedicated and organized Workshop Assistant to join our team in Ontario. The ideal candidate will provide essential support in the maintenance and repair of mining equipment and machinery, ensuring efficient workshop operations and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mining equipment and machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any issues with equipment.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage the inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
- Order and restock items as needed to ensure availability for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Workshop Organization:
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and safe.
- Arrange tools and equipment in an orderly manner for easy access.
- Support to Technicians and Engineers:
- Provide support to senior technicians, engineers, and other workshop staff in their tasks.
- Assist in setting up equipment for repair or maintenance work.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training sessions and drills.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Document any issues, repairs, and parts used.
- Transport and Handling:
- Assist with the transportation and handling of heavy machinery and equipment within the workshop.
- Operate forklifts or other machinery, if qualified.
- Technical Assistance:
- Provide technical assistance and support in troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Learn and apply technical knowledge to improve workshop operations.
- Cleaning and Lubrication:
- Clean and lubricate machinery and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Compliance with Environmental Standards:
- Ensure that all workshop activities comply with environmental regulations and standards.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate workshop activities.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to mining equipment and workshop operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role within the mining industry is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment safely.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Undeground Common Core is required.
