B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Supervisor, Underground Production, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Underground Mine Captain this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Lead team of underground mining professionals, including long hole drillers, cable bolters, blasters, mucking and haulage operators, backfilling operators, and construction crews;

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies;

- Support, mentor, and coach underground workers;

- Identify and mitigate potential hazards to safety and production, employ strategies to reduce impacts;

- Attend weekly planning meetings and ensure operational forecasts are achievable;

- Lead daily and weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks;

- Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure production targets are met;

- Conduct regular inspections of work areas, equipment, and ground conditions;

- Maintain accurate shift reports, operational logs and monitor and report on production metrics; and

- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Minimum of five (5) years of underground mining experience with demonstrated leadership competencies and the proven ability to motivate and the drive to develop a high performing crew;

- Experience in underground mine survey, ventilation, and dewatering is beneficial including a solid understanding of underground mining methods, equipment, ground control practices, and mining KPIs; Supervisor level experience with long hole drilling, cable bolting, and tele-remote mucking is preferred;

- Valid WSCC Underground Shift boss or Underground Supervisor Level II and valid First Aid certification; and

- Proficient computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Office, operational reporting software, and SAP.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for the role is $195,000.00
