The Wiring Technician level 3 is a skilled professional responsible for
independently installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex wiring systems. This advanced role requires interpreting schematics, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety protocols. The level 3 technician plays a critical role in the successful completion of electrical projects.
Compensation:
$32 - $35 hourly
Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Able to assist the wiring manager with training and mentoring any new personnel within the department when needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Participating in the planning and design of electrical and electronic construction and maintenance projects.
•List of materials and specifications, and reviewing bids to ensure required components meet specifications.
•Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring schematics, and manufacturing requirements.
•Testing all systems to ensure they are safe and fully functional.
•Using diagnostic equipment to ensure systems are safe and fully functional.
•Following instructions from on-site supervisors.
•Providing recommendations and feedback based on manufacturing requirements, specifications, procedures, and statements of work.
•Properly prepare the work area in order to properly install the harness in cabinets and racks.
•Being able to perform land wiring in terminals as well as wire a control panel.
•Being able to successfully connect low and high voltage electrical systems.
•Working effectively as a member of a team, while constantly striving to improve and develop individual skills and knowledge.
•Following all safety procedures while performing work duties.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
•Leadership skills to guide and motivate junior team members.
•Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and supervisors.
•Reports on electrical efficiency, project timelines, and scope of work.
•Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs.
•Ensure that electrical systems comply with codes and to the customers' needs.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent.
•Completion of the electrical program/schooling.
Physical Requirements:
•Able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects that are 25+lbs.
•Able to stand for long periods of time.
•Able to bend, crouch, or stoop for long periods of time.
•Have manual dexterity and the ability to use hands and fingers to use all tools required to execute tasks.
•Able to positively identify different colors or wiring.
•Able to work in tight spaces.
