Wind Turbine Technician – Full Time Position Providence, RI

Vensys Energy, Inc. is a US sales and service branch of Vensys AG, a top wind turbine manufacturing company in Germany. Our direct-drive turbines with a permanent magnet generator operate with fewer parts and highly sophisticated technological features. We are currently seeking Wind Turbine technicians to join our on-site team in RI. The service technicians will follow defined schedules and procedures including safety protocol, turbine service and/or installation processes, and perform scheduled maintenances and troubleshooting. Our technicians travel out of state a few times each year, for a week or less. What better way to do what you love and be home with your family every night?

Responsibilities:

· Reporting to the Service Manager, the technician is a knowledgeable, multi-skilled person who maintains and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Seeks assistance when encountering turbine issues outside trained skill level to ensure success in resolution.

· Follows basic structured problem-solving process to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks to include the proficient use of diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, hydraulic pressure gauge, oscilloscopes) Documents tasks where required and enters into company system.

· Independently initiates and performs most work tasks, while following defined instructions and maintenance schedules, executing plans as directed, and performing according to written and verbal instruction from higher level technical staff.

· Effectively promotes strong team environment and cooperation through assisting teammates in accomplishing goals, mentoring newer technical staff, and supporting change initiatives.

· Adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies any safety risks and reports them to management.

· Demonstrates and promotes integrity, strong initiative, and a no-compromise focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.

· Proactively looks for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures and communicates these through proper channels or implements improvements using the appropriate control management protocol.

· At times, this role will involve working a flexible and variable schedule as needed to meet business objectives, including some required on-call weekends and overtime work.

· Willingness to travel on short notice, based on company and customers’ needs.

· Effectively gather information to complete service reports as well as time & material tracking. Keen attention to detail is critical.

· All other duties as required by management

· This position is based in the immediate area of Providence, RI

Qualifications & Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum one (1) year technical wind industry experience OR a certificate of completion from a certified Wind Technician program.

· Demonstrated use and understanding of diagnostic, power torque and hydraulic tools

· Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of industrial safety practices/protocols

· A positive, proactive, and professional communication style; must be a team player

· Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without supervision

· Comprehensive writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations

· Must demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, and a focus on safety, execution, excellence, and overall quality of performance

· Must possess a valid driver’s license, undergo a bi-annual license check, and the ability to obtain a passport

· Must be able to pass a background and drug test prior to employment

· Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, work at heights up to 300 feet, and move and manipulate up to 100 pounds.
