Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Wellhead Valve Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of wellhead valves and associated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations in oil and gas production fields. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, field experience, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, repair, and servicing of wellhead valves, actuators, chokes, and related components.
•Conduct inspections to identify wear, corrosion, leaks, or other issues affecting valve performance.
•Disassemble, clean, and reassemble valve components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
•Test valve functionality under operating conditions to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
•Document maintenance activities, service records, and test results accurately and promptly.
•Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of valve and wellhead equipment failures.
•Follow all safety protocols, industry standards, and company procedures during field operations.
•Coordinate with operations, engineering, and HSE teams to ensure minimal downtime and safe practices.
•Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and service equipment.
•Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or petroleum technology preferred.
•Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in wellhead valve maintenance or oilfield equipment servicing.
•Strong knowledge of API wellhead components and pressure control systems.
•Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
•Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
•Proven ability to work independently in remote field locations under varying environmental conditions.
•Excellent problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
•Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
•Must be able to be PHMSA certified.
•Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
•Work in outdoor environments with exposure to weather, loud noise, and potentially hazardous equipment.
•Stand, walk, climb, and kneel for extended periods.
Preferred Certifications:
•TWIC Card (if required for site access)
