QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the applicant must have +3 years prior welding experience; 3 years teaching experiences preferred; current AWS certifications in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW/FCAW welding processes, with prior welding certifications preferred. Working knowledge of welding shop safety practices and proper PPE, knowledge of metal fabrication, pipe-fitting and welding machine operation and maintenance. A special emphasis on fabrication and creative design knowlege is paramount. Additional knowledge of AWS welding certification testing procedures preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of welding standards established by the American Welding Society as well.
- Superior ability to effectively interact with youth demonstrating a positive attitude and competence level
- Demonstrate ability to analyze an issue/problem, make recommendations for an effective and efficient resolution while maintaining the aptitude to seek alternate advice
- Knowledge of 3800 Regulations as they relate to youth documentation
- Knowledge of HIPPA privacy regulation
- Maintain the personal safety and security of all youth
- Ensure that appropriate behavior is observed
- Utilize Safe Crisis Management (SCM) as appropriate
- Demonstrate leadership through role modeling
- Provide First Aid as necessary
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certifications in basic and advanced levels of Welding
- 3 Years Experience; 3 Years Teaching Experience preferred
- PA State Police Criminal Background Clearance
