Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Welder Helpers to join our team.The Welder’s Helper assists welders in the preparation, assembly, and completion of welding tasks. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and quality of welding operations by providing support with materials, tools, and work area maintenance..
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist welders with set-up and preparation of welding materials and equipment.
•Move and secure materials such as pipe, fittings, and metal components.
•Clean, grind, and prepare weld joints and surfaces using hand or power tools.
•Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
•Help with layout and measurement as directed by the welder or supervisor.
•Support in fit-up activities by holding or positioning materials.
•Retrieve and return tools, consumables, and equipment as needed.
•Assist with pre- and post-weld inspections (visual checks, marking heat numbers, etc.).
•Follow all site safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
•Transport tools, equipment, and materials within the shop or job site.
•Perform other general labor duties as required.
Qualifications:
•Previous experience in an industrial, mechanical, or construction environment preferred.
•Basic knowledge of welding processes and hand tools an asset.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in physically demanding environments.
•Comfortable working in indoor/outdoor and confined space environments.
•Willingness to learn and take direction from senior tradespeople.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if field-based).
•Safety tickets such as CSTS, WHMIS, and H2S Alive (depending on job site).
