Location: Based in Frederick, CO, with travel throughout Colorado & Wyoming
Exempt (salary) or nonexempt (hourly) position: Nonexempt (hourly)
Pay: $35 to $46 based on experience and qualifications. Welding truck pay $17 per hour for qualifying vehicles with welding rigs (hourly welding truck pay is only paid for hours when welding is being performed)
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am to 5pm, with overtime and additional days as project requires.
Centerline Energy Construction is accepting future applicants for the position of Welder. An employee in this position is responsible for traveling to various remote job sites to complete welding jobs on steel natural gas pipelines. Candidates must have attention to detail and strong communication skills. Most importantly, candidates must be safety conscious of themselves and everyone around them.
An ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in welding, including experience with welding steel pipeline. They will be competent in the use of welding equipment and provide their own welding rig. This is a direct hire opportunity with great benefits.

- Read schematics and drawings and take measurements to plan cuts and welds
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment and method for each scope of work
- Perform welds in compliance with client requirements
- Set up and cut material for welding according to specifications
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align parts to be welded using approved equipment
- Often in trenches, weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- According to client specifications, test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
- Ensure any trench meets trenching regulations prior to entry, and notify supervisor of any issues- all workers have stop work authority - Creating and ensuring a positive, professional company image on the job site
- Must be able to coordinate and collaborate with multiple personnel from the field to the office
- Must be able to communicate effectively, have good teamwork skills and able to understand, comprehend, and follow directions in the workplace
- Accept supervisory accountability for the health and safety of all subordinate workers
- 5+ years of experience in welding, including experience with welding steel pipeline
- Willingness to weld in trenches and weld near live gas lines
- Experience welding natural gas steel pipeline preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Ability to pass all required Operator Qualification courses
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to use and wear personal protective equipment
- A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times
- Must be willing to travel and work in a variety of locations across state lines for both long and short periods of time

- The work environment is mainly outside, with some computer trainings
- Workers will be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, hard hat, etc., as conditions, tasks, and requirements warrant
- Work situations may include being in the presence of “rotating equipment” and energized equipment. As such, workers must be cognizant of ensuring that the equipment is “Locked Out” before working within machine guards or in proximity to energized components
- Work situations include working on / near live utility lines such as natural gas, water, and electric lines
- Workers may work on and near heavy excavation equipment, vehicles, and trailers
- Work is regularly outside year-round and exposure to natural elements such as heat, cold, wind, and sun is to be expected
- The essential functions of this position consist of spending long periods of time in the physical activities of standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending and crouching as required. This position also involves handling equipment ranging in weight from 1-100 lbs.
