Welder/Fitter

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing environments, with proficiency in various welding techniques and blueprint reading. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a wide range of hand and power tools, and contributing to high-quality fabrication processes.

Duties

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.

- Perform MIG welding on various materials including steel and pipe components.

- Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to ensure accurate fabrication.

- Assemble fabricated parts using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and mechanical knowledge.

- Conduct quality checks in accordance with AWI codes & standards to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy.

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to general shop safety.

- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

Requirements

- Proven experience in welding (MIG)

- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.

- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and fabrication machinery such as press brakes.

- Familiarity with AWI codes & standards for welding and fabrication processes.

- Strong math skills including basic calculations necessary for measurements and fabrication tolerances.

- Excellent attention to detail combined with good communication skills.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
